          Understanding the aging process allows us to help both individuals and their caregivers.  With the right tools, techniques, strategies, and resources available, it is possible to have improved quality of life.  We truly care about our clients, and our goal is to help them celebrate the life they have lived, by aging as well as possible.  Our team of trained professionals includes Certified Dementia Practitioners, Licensed Cognitive Assessment Specialists, Certified Exercise Professionals, and those with specialties as Certified Nursing Aides, and Care Ministry Coordinators.  Older adults are our focus, and we want you to know we do understand your needs.

A Brief Bio

BrainWaves© is the culmination and fulfillment of the life-work of Myra Braswell. She is a graduate of South University in Savannah, GA, where she majored in Business Administration. She went on to continue her education in the field of Gerontology and carries certifications as an Activities Director, Dementia Practitioner, Functional Aging Specialist, and as a Nursing Home Dementia Trainer.

Myra Braswell is a veteran educator and has served as the Programming Director for a Senior Adult Day Center, working in close association with the Area Agency on Aging.  She has also worked in administrative roles in both skilled nursing care and with a nationally recognized in-home living assistance agency.  

Myra serves on the Board of Directors for Dallas, TX based non-profit, For Love & Art©, which provides virtual museum art books/shows for the infirm and those with limited mobility.  She is passionate about elder care and has served on the GA Elder Abuse Council, and is a STAR Volunteer Award winner for the Georgia CARES program.  She is both an educator and trainer for the Ageless Grace© program as well as being an instructor for the American Heart Association, teaching Basic Life Saving, CPR, & First Aid.

Some of Myra's hobbies include music, art, reading, and sharing her love of animals via pet therapy.
